Expand / The Spanish debt breaks a new barrier: the required benchmark interest ten years already low 1%.
In four years the required return to Spanish ten-year bond has risen from its highs (7,75% in July 2012) to their lows. In today’s session has successfully lowered for the first time in historical series, the barrier of 1%.
A key role in this dramatic improvement has been the European Central Bank. Four years ago he stopped the rout of the Spanish debt, and since then its liquidity and its successive asset purchase programs have become cheaper to historically low financing costs for Spain.
In the secondary market, all periods of the Spanish debt to three years now trading with negative returns. Five years interest is limited to 0.15% and 0.43% for seven years. .
