Tablets continue to plummet: sales fell almost 15% in Q3 2016 – RedUSERS

according to a report from analyst firm IDC, sales tablets fell 14.7 percent in the third quarter of 2016, this in relation to the same period of 2015. In total we sold 43 million of tablets in Q3 2016, while in Q3 2015 were sold 50.5 million.

The good news appears if we compare this number with the registered in the quarter immediately preceding, Q2 2016. In relation to that quarter, sales in the sector grew by 9.8 percent.

In this segment on chopped, Apple remains the leader with a market share of 21.5 per cent of the hand of the various variants of the iPad. IDC points out that the tablets low cost are the most popular in the sector; in fact, iPad Air and iPad Mini accounted for two-thirds of the sales of this series in Q3 2016, with a total of 9.3 million units sold.

Samsung remains in second place with a share of 15.1 per cent. The consultant points out that the fiasco in Note 7 has not had an impact on the participation of the south Korean in this segment. In this report, emphasizes the role of Amazon, which occupies the third rank with a market share of 7.3 per cent and an exponential growth of 319 percent.
