ENTORNOINTELIGENTE.COM / The Embassy of Italy in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Caracas along with the National Youth Orchestra and Chorus and Children’s Venezuela is pleased to invite the next Friday, February 6, 2015, at 5:00 pm in Room Simón Bolívar National Center for Social Action through Music, to enjoy a rousing concert in tribute to the conductor Claudio Abbado, a year of his departure. This programming is done in the framework of the forty years of the System and the year of Italy in Latin America.
The concert will be conducted by maestro Diego Matheuz leading to the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela and will feature the special participation of Italian violinist Uto Ughi, who also conduct two Master Class musicians belonging to the system.
The 09 day of February will be held at the Center for Social Action met with musicians and th e general public in which the documentary “Uto Ughi one in music vita”, where the Maestro Ughi recount the experience of his life entirely dedicated to music and the training of young musicians.
On January 20 it was a year of the death of Master Claudio Abbado. Known as one of the pillars of classical music and a regular contributor to the social program El Sistema, Abbado frequently visited the country from 2005-2010, leading to last SBYOV of Venezuela at the Lucerne Festival. At the time of his departure, the maestro José Antonio Abreu gave him these words:

The concert will feature a tour composed his Symphony No. 35 “Haffner” in D Major by WA Mozart (1782), Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Major, Op. 35 (1878), Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, who will be played by guest soloist Uto Ughi, ending with the Symphony No. 4 in E Minor, Op 98 (1885) the German pianist and composer Johannes Brahms (1833-1897)..
The violinist Uto Ughi is considered heir to the tradition that has seen the birth and flourish in Italy the first major schools of violin. He appeared in public for the first time in seven years playing “the Ciaccona” from the Partita No. 2 Bach and some “Capricci” by Paganini. He began touring in major European capita ls. Since then, his career has not taken off. He has performed at major festivals in the world, with renowned orchestras, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Washington Symphony Orchestra and many others, under the direction of greatest conductors worldwide.
Uto Ughi not limit their interests only to the music, is located on the front line with the social life of Italy, especially committing to the preservation of the national artistic heritage. With this in mind he founded the “Homage to Venice” festival, in order to raise funds for the restoration of historic monuments of the lagoon. At the conclusion of that experience, he created the “Homage to Rome” festival (1999 – 2002) which reflects the ideals and heritage of a vigorous effort, with the aim of spreading the great international musical heritage; concerts open to the public and the enhancement of young talents trained in Italian conservatories. Such ideals have been taken up in 2003 and currently followed by the “Uto Ughi for Rome” festival which Ughi is the creator, founder and artistic director.
His instrument is a violin “Guarneri del Gesù”, 1744, which has a dark warm sound timbre and is perhaps one of the most beautiful “Guarneri” there. It also has a 1701 Stradivarius called “Kreutzer” because it belonged to the homonymous violinist to whom Beethoven had dedicated the famous Sonata.
Matheuz Diego, who will conduct the concert, currently serves as principal conductor of the Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice, Italy, and the Melbourne Symphony in Australia. It is one of the most prominent talents of Orchestras and Choirs system in the world.
The National System of Orchestras and Choirs Youth and Children of Venezuela is the most important artistic and soc ial program Venezuela, which exists thanks to the dream and vision that 40 years ago had the maestro José Antonio Abreu, and has been disadvantaged populations including and excluded, including people with disabilities and children and disadvantaged youth across the country. Throughout the year many activities are held throughout the country in which the system reaches 623,000 children and youth.
Erica Berra, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Caracas says the year of Italy in Latin America is a large sample and a generous sign of recognition from Italy to the reality and culture of the various Latin American nations. During this year the Italian Cultural Institute, together with the Italian Embassy has scheduled a rich and diverse range of cultural events. In the field of music, besides this first concert will present the European Festival Soloists to be held in May, made in collaboration with member countries of the European Union and finally, during Cycle Opera, will have collaboration with the Opera Company “Primo Maestro Casale” directed by noted director Rodolfo Saglimbeni in the Municipal Theatre. In the theater sector, worth mentioning participation in the month of April, the major street theater group “Teatro Tascabile of Bergamo” in the fourth edition of the Festival of Theater of C aracas and in May, the performance of the play The Monalisa , the last of the trilogy based on famous works of art written and directed by actor and director Luigi Sciamanna. In the cinema, Italy shall once again the Italian Film Festival projecting the latest Italian film productions and participate in the Euroscopio, European Film Festival in November. In the exhibition area, will be held the exhibition “Milan to read” the Mondadori Foundation in Milan as part of the Milan Expo 2015. The Institute plans to launch a call for the Italian-Venezuelan artists involved in conducting the exhibition “Italarte 2015″ to be held in June, the month of Italy. The proposed theme would be on “Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy” which is celebrated this year, the 750th anniversary of his birth. In the month of October will be conducted various activities related to XV Week of Italian Language in the World.

He has a PhD in History of Mexico, has worked in Spain, Mexico and Guatemala assuming the post of Director of IIC, sure to make a great promotion of Italian culture, putting it in connection with Venezuela to build a bridge between the two cultures .
