Located in the number 17 spot on the list of global competitiveness in travel and tourism 2015, China has maintained its competitiveness as important in East Asia tourist destination, according to a report given released today by the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The Competitiveness Index Travel and Tourism 2015 measured 141 economies in terms of its potential to generate economic and social benefits through sustainable industry travel and tourism.

In the evaluation of 2015, Spain topped the world rankings for the first time followed by the tourist destinations of France, Germany, USA, UK, Switzerland, Australia, Italy, Japan and Canada that were located in the first 10 places.

The report notes that the gap in competitiveness between these advanced and emerging market economies is declining.
