The appointment of Moraleda as an independent and non-executive member of the board of aeronautics consortium has been approved at the General Meeting of shareholders of Airbus Group, held in Amsterdam on Wednesday, according to the group said in a note.
The Spanish State held through the Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI) 4.15% stake in Airbus, which also listed as shareholders Germany and France, with 10 public appearances, 9%, respectively, by the German GZBV and Sogepa gala.
Among the three states account for 25.9%, compared to the remaining 74% is split between institutional investors and the remaining 0.1% treasury.
Moraleda, an industrial engineer by ICAI and Master in Business Administration from the IESE, left his post as president of IBM for Southern Europe in 2009 to join as COO of Iberdrola in February 2012. He currently chairs the company Systems and Efficient Lighting Services (SIE) and is a director of Meliá Hotels International and Alstom.
