BRUSSELS (Notimex) .- The authorities of Greece, European Commission (EC), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Central Bank (ECB) today resumed negotiations here to unlock the next tranche of Greek bailout .
The new round of talks will last until Saturday and is crucial for Athens that without an agreement, will not have liquidity to pay 300 million euros (334 million dollars) owed to the IMF on 5 June.
EU sources said progress has been made since the most recent meeting between the Greek team and international creditors last week.
However, rate of progress’ has been slower than we would like, “a European official stressed, who considered ‘difficult’ that an agreement is reached by the end of May.
Greece is to receive 7.2 billion euros (eight billion dollars) from its creditors, provided that adopt a new series of reforms, including in the labor market and pensions, two areas that the Greek prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, promised to protect.
