The Spanish oil company Repsol announced Friday the discovery of three natural gas reservoirs southeast of Bolivia, along with Britain’s BG and Argentina’s Pan American Energy (PAE ), which will allow the country to ensure its exports to Argentina.
The company made the announcement at a public event in the region of Huacaya, southeast of Bolivia, where the main reserves-are. President Evo Morales and other officials attended the ceremony.

Bolivian natural gas production is around 60 MCMD, of which 31 MCMD go for the Brazilian market, 18 MCMD for Argentina and the balance is consumed internally.
Production Margarita-Huacaya block, operated by Repsol (37.5%), BG (37.5%) and PAE (25%), is primarily intended for Argentina and the domestic market.
Investments consortium international oil, projected from 2014 to 2016 are 350 million, for the development of mega-fields between the departments of Tarija and Chuquisaca (southeast), the richest in the country.
