The euro lost ground against the dollar Tuesday in London, driven by concerns over Greece, comments from an official at the European Central Bank (ECB) and the sharp drop in the confidence of German financial means.
At 1600 GMT the single European currency traded $ 1.1155 compared with $ 1.1315 on Monday at 2100 GMT.
Against the yen, the dollar hit 120.58 yen, compared with 119.97 yen late Monday.
Benoît Coeuré, ECB board member, said Monday that the institution plans to increase debt purchases in May and June to offset lower purchases than expected in July and August.
