THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF VENEZUELA

Mr. President, I turn to you in this way motivated by the need to let you know our willingness to share views on the conditions currently affecting the supply of categories of food and beverages where we participated in our country, which in turn directly impacts the quality of life of all Venezuelans.
Empresas Polar is a Venezuelan corporation has almost 75 years permanently reinvesting in the country, due to the confidence that shareholders have had over four generations. We started in 1941 with 50 workers in Antímano and since then we have invested every year, generating 30,000 today productive jobs and prosperity for all Venezuelans. This has been achieved thanks to investment and honest and determined for each of those who are part of this organization, providing high quality products that have won the preference and trust of Venezuelans work.
We reward that confidence in each location where our facilities, by generating decent jobs with excellent benefits and taxes. Also, since we were born, it was established in our bylaws that brindaríamos supporting communities through multiple initiatives to promote his integral growth in such vital areas as Health, Education, Community Development and Sports, among others, which was unprecedented in the time and we have fully complied with all these years, being recognized by Venezuelans.
One of the key aspects of our model of operation is, in addition to producing plants that have the best team and the most advanced technology, have different trading systems that distribute our products directly to more than 189 000 clients throughout Venezuela.
This is a great effort made since our inception and that makes possible our people today in 140 offices and branches. It is an achievement that we are proud because that serve from large customers to small wineries and supplies, both in cities and in small towns and villages. This is a work by Venezuelans for Venezuelans, supported on three pillars of our business philosophy: investment, work and commitment to Venezuela.
All this shows that we are part of the solution and our commitment is to contribute in every way we possibly can to every Venezuelan available products that require timely and affordable manner. That is our reason for being as entrepreneurs: invest, create jobs, produce, distribute, establish win-win relationships and create wealth for everyone involved in the value chain.
We believe in the importance of stimulating domestic production, giving value to the “Made in Venezuela” and that the vast majority of our resources are invested in the country. Only in 2014, investments in Venezuela amounted to 7,200 million bolivars.
Thus, in the last two years we have launched several plants, such as pasteurized yogurt, corn flakes, mix cachapas, tea powder and gelatin, generating new jobs. In addition, we expanded the production capacity of Harina PAN monthly 43 million kilos, at our plant in Chivacoa, margarine and 2.5 million monthly kilos, at our plant in Valencia.
Mr President, the last time we had the opportunity to meet for talks two years ago and then, in 2014, received his invitation to participate in the Peace Conference. There I was present to offer my contribution with regard to the need for joint efforts between public and private sector and raise 12 proposals in economic, which we believe should be addressed with priority.
We have always been open to dialogue and willing to maintain a smooth, sincere and respectful communication. We firmly believe that the best way to provide solutions to the population, in terms of supply, is by integrating efforts between state and private enterprise.
We are all Venezuelans and we all want the same thing: that the country succeed and prosper his people. The best that can happen to us Venezuelans is to do well at all and the only way is to work together for our country.
