SPAIN: Annual inflation in the eurozone down five tenths in February – EntornoInteligente

Expand / The annual rate of inflation in the euro area fell five tenths in February compared to the previous month, to stand at -0.2%, according the latest data from the EU statistical office Eurostat.

A year earlier the rate was also negative and was -0.3%.

In the whole European Union (EU) the annual rate of inflation also fell five tenths with respect to January to stay at 0.2%.

a year ago was also in red field with -0.3%.

in February negative annual rates were observed in fifteen Member States.

in Spain, the annual rate of inflation stood at -1.0%.

the weakest rates were recorded in Cyprus (-2.2%) and Romania (-2.1%), while the highest occurred in Belgium (1.1%), Austria and Malta (1.0% each).

with respect to January 2016, annual inflation fell in 20 member states, remained stable in one and increased in six.

the biggest upward momentum in the eurozone inflation occurred in the prices of restaurants and cafes ( 0.13 percentage points higher), followed by rents (0.08 points), and fruits (0.06 points).

by contrast, the largest downward effect produced it fuels transport (0.49 points), fuels for heating (0.24 points) and gas (0.10 points)
