German manufacturers revised 630,000 vehicles emissions – Yahoo Finance Spain

BERLIN / FRANKFURT (Reuters) – The scandal at Volkswagen emissions testing extended to other members auto industry Friday when the leading German manufacturers agreed to review 630,000 vehicles to change software diesel engines which are blamed for high pollution.

The systems and management software engines are in the spotlight since Volkswagen (VW) admitted in September that it had installed programs that manipulated testing diesel emissions.

Late Thursday, VW reached an agreement to avoid a trial by the Justice Department of the United States, the State of California, the Agency for Environmental Protection and the Federal Comsión of Commerce, in addition lawyers owners vehicles that filed a class action.
