VW reports loss in 2015 mde 16200 ‘dieselgate’ – Newscasts Televisa

FRANKFURT, Germany, April. 22, 2016.- Volkswagen reported an operating loss of 4,100 million euros (4,600 million dollars) for 2015, after the largest car manufacturer in Europe reserved 16,200 million euros to pay compensation for the scandal emissions diesel vehicles.

VW admitted in September that manipulated emission tests of 11 million vehicles worldwide since 2009, one of the biggest scandals in corporate history. The deception did lose the company billions of euros in market value, forced the departure of its chief executive and greatly damaged its global image.

Volkswagen was forced to postpone the delivery of their results in February amid uncertainty about the financial impact of the scandal, until it reached a draft agreement with US regulators to offer to buy back or potentially fix about half a million cars diesel and establish a compensation fund for consumers and the environment.

Excluding special items, the group consisting of 12 brands had an operating profit of 12,800 million euros, the company said.

However, after discounting 16,200 million euros to pay agreements called “dieselgate” and additional 400 million euros to restructure commercial and passenger vehicles, the company reported an operating loss of 4,100 million euros.

the management and directory VW proposed to pay shareholders a dividend of 0.11 euros per ordinary share and 0.17 euros per preferred share, below a payment of 4.80 euros per ordinary share and 4.86 euros per preferred share in 2014, reflecting efforts to reduce costs.
