Repsol and La Caixa held advanced negotiations with Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) and other funds for the sale of up to 20% of Natural Gas.

the gas company on the stock market has rebounded today 305%, to 19.07 euros per share. Its capitalization exceeds 19,000 million euros, so that the operation would be valued at about 3.800 million at market prices.

From 20% natural gas is transferred, 10% would Repsol and other 10% of Criteria, the subsidiary of La Caixa which controls most business units.

Repsol, with 30% of Natural Gas, and La Caixa group with 35%, maintain a pact control of the gas subject to certain conditions. Among them, that neither fall below 15% each, or between 50% continue to maintain. Since this operation some clauses would be broken, the syndication agreement would have to be reformulated.

GIP has been one of the most active investment funds in energy in Spain in recent years. It was one of the main shareholders of CLH and is now the second largest shareholder of Saeta Yield, the renewables subsidiary ACS group that has other development agreement projects in green energy.
