This resolution, affirms the entity, "seeks to ensure the provision of electric service in the departments served by Electricaribe: Atlántico, Bolívar, Cesar, Córdoba, Guajira, Magdalena and Sucre".

According to the cited rule, the taking of possession of Electricaribe runs because the company is currently held in two of the grounds provided for the effect on the Public Services (Law 142 of 1994).

The minister of Mines and Energy, Germán Arce Zapata, ratified its support to the decision of the Superintendent “to ensure the provision of electric service to the caribbean region”.

“we Seek to address this historical problem of the hand of Gas Natural Fenosa, the majority shareholder of Electricaribe, but we don’t succeed in this round of negotiations, an agreement for the capitalization of the company. Without the funding of the investment plan required, the only option to protect the families of Atlántico, Bolívar, La Guajira, Magdalena, Córdoba, Cesar, and Sucre is the inauguration”, said the head of the portfolio from Barranquilla.
