Working hours lost due to strikes exceeded 8.6 million through the month of November, which is 38.5% less than the same period last year, according to the latest report of the CEOE on labor unrest.
Specifically, in the first eleven months of the year 849 strikes were recorded, a decrease of 25.5% year on year, seconded by 311,170 workers, 43.8% less than in January-November 2013.

The economic sectors most affected by the strikes until November were education (2.3 million hours lost), food, beverages and snuff (1.9 million hours), transport and communications (826,018 hours), health activities (468,240 hours) and metal (396,124 hours).
As for the causes of labor disputes, strikes 221
convened in January by the processing of job layoffs, with 32,700 workers involved and 3.2 million lost hours, 38% of the total.
