Greece looks forward meeting with the EU, he sticks to his rejection … – Reuters

ATHENS (Reuters) – Greece said Sunday he hoped to reach an agreement in negotiations with its partners in the eurozone, but reiterated it would not accept stringent austerity measures no agreement on its debt.

A day before finance ministers of the euro zone meet in Brussels to discuss the Greek situation and help the country follow in the currency bloc, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras told the German magazine Stern that Athens needed time to implement its reform program and recover from the bad previous administrations.

“I hope difficult negotiations, however, I am full of confidence,” Tsipras said. “I promise you: Greece will be a totally different country within six months,” said

The finance ministers of the Eurogroup will meet in Brussels on Monday to try to find common ground with the new leftist government Tsipras, who was elected on the promise that rule the austerity measures of international bailouts received Greece, on issues such as debt management, financing, privatization and labor reforms.

If the meeting fails results, there are concerns that Greece will lead to a financial crisis that would force her to leave the eurozone. Progress, however, could mean new negotiations, perhaps later in the week.

“The unstoppable force will face the immovable object,” said Vasileios Gkionakis, head of global currency strategy at UniCredit, in a note.

President of the European Central Bank, Mario Draghi, refused to discuss the likelihood that Greece leave the euro zone if an agreement with lenders is not reached European Union and International Monetary Fund as a result of the demands of Greece to ease its debt burden.

Draghi simply reiterated that membership in the euro zone is “irreversible”. Continued …
