Athens, February 16 (EFE) .- The Greek defense minister and leader of the ruling party Independent Greeks, Panos Kamenos, said that the government “will not accept an extension of the memorandum”, after the Eurogroup give an ultimatum Greece four days to request a further extension of rescue.
“We will not apply any extension of the memorandum (bailout program). We have a mandate to go to the end,” said Kamenos in your profile official social network Twitter.
The Independent Greeks leader said that “all Greek states” say “no” to the impositions of the European partners and added that not yield “blackmail”.
After the meeting on Monday, that the Greek Government and partners failed to reach an agreement, the Eurogroup chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem, urged the Greek government to request an extension of the current program would include some flexibility change commitments.
The extension of the current adjustment plan agreed between the known troika (European Commission, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund) and former Executive expires on February 28 so that negotiations are requiring that Athens will not remain without funding from March 1.
The Minister of Finance of Greece, Yanis Varufakis, was willing to accept prolong the “loan agreement” to Greece, but not the “program” and keep involved the International Monetary Fund, as part expires in March 2016. EFE
