Madrid, Aug 22 (EFE) .- Spain in July received a record 8.3 million foreign tourists, up 5.9% or half a million, an increase that was not reflected, however, in figure the volume of overnight stays, which fell by 1.8% due to a reduction in the average stay.
The number of arrivals in July had the best record ever for that month, as it is the cumulative since January, with 36.3 million tourists, exceeds 7% a record 34 million in the same period of 2013 figure, according to the survey of Inbound Tourism (Frontur) results, released today by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism.
July marks the second best month ever tour in Spain, second only to August 2013, according to advanced yesterday by Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, José Manuel Soria.
In addition, recent data suggest that this year will set a new record for international tourism, which in 2013 first exceeded the barrier of 60 million visitors, as noted in Soria a recent interview with EFE
With the rise of 2.9% of the room nights of Spanish travelers, total overnight stays remained almost stable (down 0.2% to 37.5 million), while the result of the first seven months of the year remains positive with 2.8% more.
United Kingdom was the first market in July issuer with 1.9 million tourists, up 4.6%, while France was second with 1.4 million and the main contributor to growth with a positive differential of more than 155,000 tourists (12.4%).
However, Germany, which was the third largest emitter with about 1.2 million tourists, fell 1.1%, the only major market, with Russia (2.1% rating less), to show results negative in July.
The German overnight stays decreased by 7.9% and Russian, 11.4%, although the UK market also fell, by 3.8% to reduce your nights in hotels, the survey of Tourist situation (INE).

Also in the period from January to July, the largest influx of tourists comes largely from the UK, Germany and especially France which contributes more than half a million additional tourists, while declines were the only ones with Russia and USA, with 3.8% and 5.5% fewer visitors, respectively.
All communities increased their number of international tourists through July, receiving two out of three of these additional visitors Andalucía , notably Catalonia and the Canary Islands,
The UK was the first issuer from January to July, with 8.4 million tourists and a rise of 5.5%, followed by Germany with 5.8 million, up 6.6%, and France, with nearly 5.7 million and a sharp increase of 10.8%.
Catalonia was the first host community, with 9.3 million tourists international, up 5.7%, followed by the Balearic Islands, with 6.3 million (up 0.8%), and the Canaries, with 6.5 million (up 11.8%).
