The price of the free housing fell 2% in the third quarter in Galicia in relation to the same period last year, which retake the downward trend after a slight rebound in the second quarter, 0.1%.
Earlier, prices free housing had decreased in Galician for more than five years –in particular, they did so for 21 consecutive quarters since the fourth quarter of 2008 -.

At the state assembly, the prices of private housing rose 0.3% in the third quarter versus the same period last year, which strung two quarters upwards after six years of annual declines.
The annual rise of housing prices in the third quarter was moderate compared to that recorded in the second quarter when the price increase was 0.8%.
The housing prices began to fall in the second quarter of 2008 (-0.3% ) and remained so until the second quarter of this year, when he showed his first rally after 24 negative quarters.

NINE COMMUNITIES WITH TAXES QUARTERLY NEGATIVE
the third quarter of this year, a total of eight regions recorded positive quarterly rates in housing prices, with the greatest increases the Balearics (+ 2.1%) and Cantabria (+ 1.7%), while nine experienced setbacks, especially Navarra (-2.3%) and Extremadura (-2.2%).
In-year, six communities in the third quarter showed positive rates, while ten other registered sign negative and Andalusia, it remained unchanged. The steepest annual fall corresponded to Navarra (-6.9%) and Extremadura (-4.6%), while the largest rallies took place in Madrid (+ 2.8%) and Cantabria (+2%).
A total of 12 communities cut their annual rate in the third quarter from the previous quarter, especially Galicia and La Rioja, where rates fell 2.1 and 1.8 points to -2% and -3.5%, respectively.
The largest increases in the annual change in the price of private housing were recorded in Asturias, up half a point to -1.5%, and Murcia and Aragon, with annual rates three tenths higher than in the second quarter to 1.5% and 2%, respectively.
The IPV published statistic is compatible with the requirements of Eurostat and complements published quarterly by the Ministry of Development. Among its objectives is to serve as a point of comparison between Member States relating to housing prices.
