The consortium comprising Dragados and Flatiron, the ACS group and Shimmick has been done with the contract for the construction of a section of the high-speed California (United States) for an amount in excess of 1.235 million dollars (993 million euros). ACS participation in rail contract is 70%, accounting for 35% corresponding to Dragados and 35% of Flatiron, a subsidiary of Hochtief in North America, according to the Spanish group yesterday in a statement.
The contracted section 105 kilometers long, runs from Fresno to Bakersfield North Area Central Valley and includes 36 Steps at different levels, including viaducts, overpasses and underpasses. This is the second installment has gone out to tender within the plan of California High Speed, who first developed in the US and connecting population centers in the state of California from San Francisco to Los Angeles, and will continue thereafter to north to Sacramento and south to San Diego.
ACS achieves this project in the US after building featured sections of AVE in Spain, which include the tunnel between Figueras and Perpignan linked to France under the Pyrenees and currently also involved in the construction of the AVE Mecca-Medina.
On Thursday, the group chaired by Florentino Perez announced the award by another highway ACS Colombia 820 million over 25 years. This is the second project that manages the group in the South American country. The road will have 31.8 kilometers long and will connect the industrial areas of the Cauca Valley to the port of Buenaventura.
