Spain 10 reduces the trade deficit and export records new record – W Radio

Madrid, May 20 (EFE) .- The Spanish trade deficit fell 10% in the first quarter of this year compared to 2015 and reached 4,943.5 million euros (5.542 million dollars) as a result of an increase 0.2% of exports, which reached a new record.

According to data released today by the Ministry of Economy sales abroad they amounted Spain in terms of income, 61,101.1 million euros (68,500 million dollars), while imports decreased by 0.7% to 66,044.5 million euros.

And if exports are measured by volume, the increase was 2 , 5%, while imports grew 4.6%. These data are explained in which prices fell by 5.0% and therefore able to sell and buy more goods and services for the same amount of money.

The non-energy balance showed a deficit of 987.4 million euros, compared with a surplus between January and March 2015, while the energy balance recorded an improvement of 42.5% as a result of the substantial drop in energy prices.

the cumulative results for Spain (0.2%) are better than those obtained by the euro zone and the European Union, which fell 0.5% and 0.9%, respectively.

exports to the EU-28 (67.7% of total) advanced 3.9% in January-March 2016 compared to the same period last year.

in the case of sales to the euro zone (52 , 6% of the total) there was an increase of 3.0%, while those for the rest of the European Union (15.1% of the total) rose by 7.4%.

exports to third destinations (32.3% of the total) fell in this period by 6.8% year on year, with falling exports to all areas except the Middle East (2.3%). EFE
