Low-cost airline announces purchase agreement between its shareholders – La Estrella de Panama

The Board of VivaColombia, low-cost airline of Colombia, announced that it signed a shareholders agreement that will see Irelandia Aviation increase its stake in the business from 25% to 75% by purchasing the shares of Grupo Bolívar and Fast group. IAMSA still owns 25%.

With the signing of the agreement, Bernardo Carrasco and Gabriel Migowski have relinquished their position as members of the Board and will be replaced by Manuel Leal and William Shaw. Additionally, Juan Emilio Posada, one of the co-founders who sells, has resigned his position as CEO or executive director.

Instead, the Board appointed William Shaw, founder and team member VivaColombia for several years, as CEO of the airline and wishes him well to lead the company to continued success.

VivaColombia is the only airline low cost Colombia and currently operates more than 24 thousand flights per year. With a fleet of 10 A320s, carries approximately 3.8 million passengers a year on 29 routes to 15 cities in 5 countries and employs more than 500 people.

During the 2015, the airline has transported about 2.2 million customers in the domestic market with 20 routes within Colombia, and more than 200 thousand customers in the international market, with four routes to Panama, Ecuador and Peru.

and only in Panama, in 2015 , VivaColombia contributed $ 1,800,000 to the Panama Pacific Airport airport tax and security fee.

VivaColombia began commercial flights from Panama to Colombia since mid-August 2014.
