OPEC will seek agreement with non-member countries to lower oil production and drive price – Teletrece

The Organization of Oil Producing Countries (OPEC) will seek to include countries that are not part of the group to limit the production of crude oil and, in this way, to raise its prices to the international level.

according to data of the agency consists of fourteen countries, the production in August reached historic levels of extraction of 33.4 million barrels per day. For this reason, work on the development of an agreement that limit the production to to 32.5 million barrels daily.

The minister of Energy of Qatar, Mohammen Saleh al-Sada, said in a press conference that "invitations will be sent to a number of key countries non-OPEC, to travel to Vienna on the 28th and 29th of this month" and participate in this agreement.

The decision was taken after a meeting held in Turkey between several members of OPEC and other producing countries that are not part of the group as Mexico and Russia.
