The state will provide 13.2 million euros monthly to the Church … – The Progress

The State delivered monthly to the Catholic Church 13.26 million euros in 2015 (159.2 million per year), in advance of 0.7% of the total tax liability on the income of natural persons (PIT) taxpayers to check the box of the Church.

This is reflected in an additional provision of the Bill of State Budget (PGE) for next year.

According to the aforementioned additional provision on ” system review tax allocation to the Catholic Church, “the 13.26 million that will be delivered monthly account are the amount the state must assign by applying another arrangement, in this case 2007 budgets

In the 2007 accounts that the Government set from 1 January of that year and “indefinitely” and the Agreement between the Spanish State and the Holy See on Economic Affairs (dating from 1979), the State would allocate to the support of the Catholic Church 0.7% of the total tax liability on the income of natural persons (PIT) of taxpayers who express a wish to that effect.

According to the bill of the budgets of 2015 delivered today in the House of Representatives, before November 30, 2016 a provisional liquidation corresponding to 2015 allocation will be made, and the final settlement is made before April 30 , 2017.

In both settlements, once made, shall proceed to regularize the two sides, one way or another, the existing balance, the text ends.
