The sale of homes in Andalusia has increased by 22.8 percent in July from the same month in 2013, following exchanged a total of 5,954 properties, according to figures released Thursday by the National Statistics Institute (INE), which states that nationally, home sales rose 10.7 percent in July over the same month 2013, a total of 28,583 operations.

Meanwhile, the purchases of subsidized housing fell 11.7 percent through July, while the free housing fell 2.2 percent.

In July, the highest number of house sales per 100,000 population was in Valencia (107), California (92) and La Rioja (91). Andalusia continued at the head of house sales in the seventh month of the year, with 5,954 operations, followed by Valencia (4231) and Catalonia (4230).

In relative terms, the regions where increased on year home sales were Asturias (+47,1 percent), Extremadura (+43,9 percent) and Galicia (+24.2 percent), while the largest decreases were for La Rioja (-12 1 percent) and Murcia (-11.8 percent).
